I Can Only Be Four People At Once

This is a day in the life of "L", if the particular day happens to be today.

Not only was I fulfilling my current job duties (scowling irritably at developers, crying, swearing at a crappy modeling tool, printing ginormous pieces of paper, etc.), but I had to temporarily fulfill my old job duties as well (scowling irritably at developers, crying, looking at error messages, swearing at pagers, etc.).

I was four people today, one of whom is in China, one of whom is recovering from the Boston Marathon, one who is sick with the flu, and me -- the charming young person you see figuratively squished at the bottom of the phone booth at top.

Good Night.

In times like that I have found releasing your pet skunk tends to get you a slight respite. Sorry your day sucked. Tomorrow will most likely suck too, but call me an optimist, there is a modicum of a chance it might actually get better. Hey, the Red Sox won the World Series so anything is possible.

At least you didn't get called into an HR sexual harassment investigation so that you could volunteer information on multiple co-workers in regards to commentary that you never heard. OH MY GOD THIS SUCKED! I was going to write about it in my blog but most of my co-workers read it.

HR Rep (paraphrased): So, jpr, have you ever heard person x y or z say alpha beta or zeta?
JPR: No. x and y are generally nice people and I can't imagine z being that stupid.
HR Rep: But we were told that you were on the stand when alpha was said.
JPR: Really, I didn't hear anything
HR Rep: CONFESS YOU SNOT NOSED PUNK
JPR: Uh. What?

Good luck on tomorrow.

That must have been one hell of a phone call people were trying to make. Perhaps someone heard the phone ringing and thought it might be the Virgin Mother detailing exactly which overpass in Chicago she could be seen at.
Sorry you're having bad times at work. I laughed at the irony of someone having to "recover from" the marathon.
